Maybe they were trying to save on FPS? Who knows with those guys. It seems the idiot devs over at Bethesda decided fire no longer needed to look awesome in the SSE version of the game.
They seem to have come to the conclusion that SSE fires are missing glow maps and glow meshes, the lighting flags need to be edited, along with a much smaller fire mesh size having been put into SSE, as compared to SLE. Guys (mnikjom and a few others) over on the Nordic Guide Discord have been working on this for weeks and still haven't figured it out completely. The problem with Ultimate HD Fire Effects SSE is that it attempts to do the same thing with SSE that it did with SLE, and the issue is that, THAT WON'T WORK, because SSE's fire is produced in a completely different manner. The way Skyrim SE handles fire is fundamentally different than that of Skyrim LE.
